Oooo! OOOOH! My best friend and I went to Vegas, on a road trip, when we were 21. It was sooooo fun! We stopped at every dumb landmark on the way, then in CA, then on to Vegas. I will never forget the awesome memories we made.

I live in England I guess in a day you can go anywhere and be back in time for supper.

Bet those in the south want to head north, those in the west go east and those in the east go west. The grass is never greener on the other side.

properly.. if you're for the kitchy, touristy type of stuff, i'd say hit Hearst fortress, Yosemite, Hollywood, Santa Monica/Venice coastline, San Diego Gaslamp District... try youthful human beings hostels.... even with contemporary video clips scaring the crap out of all and sundry questioning about it... they're really sparkling, low-cost, and are positioned interior the middle of many touristy sort places. Or... in case you purely head down HWY a million (Pacific Coast street), you may hit all sorts of campgrounds. carry a pair of tents and earnings from the total outdoors. One secret - many campsites are already booked up. you may attempt to 'probability' it by using using as a lot as the front and asking in the adventure that they have got any very last minute cancellations... in case you try this in route of evening, often they could have one or 2 web pages open up for you... pretty in the course of the week. Weekends you may want to favor to splurge on a motel and make reservations. inn 6 or perfect Western are really low-fee and provide you with with a warm bathe and a mattress to sleep in! if you're making it to Monrovia, CA (on old route sixty six), there's a outstanding old motel reported as Aztec... it truly is an unique motel that has existed on route sixty six for extremely a lengthy time period!!! it truly is amazingly kitchy and has a outstanding bar (The Brass Elephant) it fairly is amazingly 'down homestead.' If in Hollywood - do not omit the Getty museum. Parking is 7 bucks.... the museum is loose... and also you'll see brilliant artistic endeavors in all kinds.... really a ought to-see in California. it truly is off the 405 Fwy.

I did when I was in my senior year of high school. My best friend and I packed a small bag. And took off for a week we saw a lot of really neat things. We stopped where we wanted and just had a blast. If your not tied down to a job or anything go for it. But be careful fo the weirdos out there. Have fun

I went on many a road trip in my younger days. I went Louisiana to Michigan, enjoying everything in between. From Michigan to California then I hitched from California to Louisiana. Miscellaneous amounts of shorter trips, those were the days.

Most beautiful state I've been to is Colorado.

Yes! In fact, both my brother and I were tempted so we jumped in the car and went. We are from Texas, and we didn't want to go to far, cause we both have jobs. So we just drove to Hot Springs, Arkansas, and ended up getting arrested in a state park for consuming alcohol!

Yes, because I live in Nebraska. I have to get out of this state at least once a year! Fortunately, Missouri is not too far and they have things to do and sights to see. Otherwise, Oregon would be my first place to go if it wasn't so darn far away!

Yes, I haven't seen any of the middle of us. But I won't want to do it on my own and I think you need to go with someone you really trust, being able to change a tire does hurt either I'm sure.
