Nothing like a good old sweeping statement. I'm from the UK and i have to say there are some dumb Americans. But, there are some real dumb Brits too....Hell there are dumb people all over the place, and i am sorry to say, you are a great example of one. Who said the intelligent and fully functioning brains were given out first? I mean, mistakes are made before perfection is achieved......maybe they were waiting til who ever was giving them out had perfected them.....

Thanks for the negativity and stereotyping of the American population. In fact, your second statement lacks knowledge of the Caucasian heritage in the United States. In all honesty white American roots stem from European countries sure, but many were looking for more opportunities or to escape persecution.

Also, before you judge others you should really spell check your question to make sure everything is spelled right. Could'nt is not a word; couldn't is.

Americans can't be too dumb we bailed you azzes out in ww2, and paid to rebuild most of Europe.
America is still the most wealthiest nations in the world and if America decided to become a communist country how long would it be for the rest of the world to financially collapse

Ha Ha. I have heard that a lot. I am American, but have lived my life mainly overseas. It is a different world outside the U.S. You have to be able to think for yourself and use common sense. It is always a bit different when I go back to the states to see what people are doing. You have to give them a little room for how comfortable they live in the U.S. Sometimes they don't get to see the whole picture.

we need a forum to discuss the frighteningly stupid american voting public. The ones that dont vote have been marginalised because their vote would impact on whoevers paid the most(ie threw the glitziest party and made business deals with the so-called dodgy people - u know who i mean....) to be prez. And america might be rich - but its all fur coat and no knickers.

Well, aren't you a charmer? And it's not that the Puritans couldn't cut it in Europe. They left because they were tired of being persecuted for their beliefs. So they came to the New World where they could be free to persecute others for their beliefs.

After seeing the answers given by some Americans, I want to concur with you.

I kind of think that the Americans were intelligent enough to leave Europe, and also brave enough to face the challenges too.

The richest nation in the world, dumb? Biggest bridges, tallest buildings, first powered flight, MacDonald's! I agree that some are unbelievably stupid, but isn't that the same in any country?
