no, planetary surface temperatures are not hot enough to cause the planet to explode..
But perhaps you are thinking of internal temps at the molten core!.

There have been numerous super explosions which have indirectly been linked to earth quake and volcanic activity.. mount saint Helen's, in the USA. and Krakatoa java.. mount Vesuvius Italy are ones that spring to mind in recent history
