going to school for this is NOT a waste of time!! you should find schools that offer these courses...don't make the mistake of doing something you're not into!!

My opinion. If you have still camera or is digital [is] you can make a picture any kind of which you assume to draw or respect and take away from some viewpoint ,and angle;corner you need to go to school special to become photographer which at the discretion of you is, do you feel to play around with yes [do] not need. But if you go to school you will get guidance from cleverer photographer and more experienced ( have professional ). According to me if you have hobby make a picture you could probably become famous photographer. Possible just which I can suggest.
HOPEFULLY YOU CAN AND DON'T QUICKLY SURRENDER
Remember : If you fail to remember this message " If very is high goal-seeking you [of] sure you can reach for [it] and nothing that can hinder you is ( if good aspiration otherwise you don't [do/conduct], hold up your aspiration if ugly goal-seeking because will harm others and you residing in [about/around] you."

First you should buy your sefl a decent 5- 7 megapixel digital camera (gets a bit pricey) and take a shot at photography.

Same with video cameras, buy a decent one and take a shot at it.

Plus going to school for it would be a big plus, but only do it when you knoe for sure that photography is something you want to do, same with film making.

School for filmmaking is essential. No one wants to work with someone who has no experience, no matter how good there ideas are. Film school is FUN. Don't fear film school. No matter what your age, it'll be the best experience of your life.

Photography? Another fun career.
Teacher? Requires much schooling. Very rewarding.
