Because they r Poor and have no home , and maybe god needs u to be there to help them... : )

There are different reasons. But by doing your best to not be homeless yourself, you will be doing your part to help society solve this problem.

For years, there have been efforts by people to care for the homeless. Ben Franklyn commented on it. He said something to the effect that the more the rich helped the poor, the greater the temptation of the slothful tendency in some of the population to not bother about working. Yet the rich should still try to help. Some are there for bad luck. All give the reason of bad luck. No one has invented the perfect screen yet.

One is only being naive if he thinks everyone will work to pull their own weight when given the chance. What do you think a thief is. (So, I say, don't bear guilt on their behalf as long as you do your best to work and keep off the streets.)

There are countless reasons, too many to mention.

One thing I noticed years ago was that the homeless population skyrocketed when food banks became a government institution rather than just something the odd church did when they could. Think about it--your food is secure no matter how foolishly you spend your money/welfare check etc. Many take liberties at such occasions. Many take risks. Don't be the one to try to stop them. You might as well try to stop the BASE jumper.

because unfortunately every culture has people that cant or refuse to sustain themselves. some are just lazy and others get a bad break. think about it you lose your job have no family to rely on and everything can snowball from there. once your homeless have no address and no means to clean yourself or your clothing how are you supposed to find a job???
every major holiday and at least once every 2 weeks when i have left over food i make plates and give them to the local homeless people. i enjoy being able to help people even if its only minor. i also occasionally go to a 99 cent store and buy a bunch of deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, chapstick etc and give it away. i dont live in a bad area my house is worth $350,000. they are everywhere now. it gives me a tiny piece of mind to know that i helped someone today. i encourage everyone who reads this to help how they can. before you throw out those leftovers take the time to give them to someone who would probably really appreciate a meal.

Because the government isn't doing their job. They need to forget about wars in foreign countries and NASA and all that other garbage and put lots of money into creating Death Squads to go around and exterminate the homeless. I hate vagrants.
