They're actually more similar, than different!
Both freedom fighters & terrorists are fighting for causes that they truly believe in...and both are prepared to Die for their cause.
Freedom Fighters are associated with Political agendas...Terrorists with Religious Aims...But both groups believe that " Their " Cause is the " Right " One!
Just shows how people accept the Beliefs instilled within them during their formative years!

My assessment has been that a freedom fighter is struggling for the liberation of a people, while a terrorist is working to destroy others.

The difference is the observer.
The same person is a freedom fighter to one observer, a terrorist to another observer, a lunatic to a third observer, a patriot to a fourth observer . . . . on and on and on.

Usually, it depends upon who won and who is writing the history. However, I do think it should be tied to the kinds of actions an individual takes for their cause.
For example, the minutemen who stood against an army are different than someone who randomly blows up Innocent civilians. Most of the violence we see now in Iraq is simply terror for terrors sake.

Yes u r right, It depends on which side u r on. If u a Israeli then Paleystines are terrorist. If not then Israelis r terrorist.

averrrrrrrrrrrrry big diffrence man....afreedom fighter is the one who fights to get his own freedom or the freedom of his country...that's nopole and full of honor...in islam the one who dies doing that is very high ranked between people....maybe the highest..but terrorist...he is the one who just scare people and go behind acause that has no exist ...that's sooooo wrong and sure should be eleminated

it only depends on what side you are looking on from.
ex: we call iraqi guys fighting americans right now "insurgence" or "terrorists." to them they are fighting guys who just invaded their home and consider themselves "freedom fighter."

Even GEORGE WASHINGTON was considered by the British colonialists as a terrorist at his time.;)
