Is it legal to give discounts of a public product to specific customers and not everyone? I heard once that if you selling item A, you can't only make a discount thats not available to everyone.

I am not an expert, but I think you can sell it for what you want. If you advertise a price and then try and charge more, that will get you in trouble. I would call a lawyer that specializes in that area of law. Don't have one? I recommend you check out the service I have. I've had it for almost 2 years and I love it. I can call and ask just that type of question for no charge above my regular monthly fee (in my state it is $17/mo). It is awesom and there are so many other benefits.

Lol, your Q is kinda confusing...give some more background...like what are you talking about selling and if your discount could be considered desciminatory, then I think it IS ILLEGAL...discounts in general boost sales as a rule.

It would be in your best interest business-wise to offer everyone a discount.

If you feel that you'd lose money that way, then offer a lesser discount...

More information might help me offer a better answer :)

AND...it is both immoral and you know, not ethical...if you can live with that, I'd say, dont let the customers know that some are getting a better deal...but then again, I wouldnt do it, period.

it could be illegal if you are being discriminative.

However there are many companies that do this all the time. They give free gifts to those who use credit cards. Or they give extra to people who buy BIG shipments. Some bars give ladies half price on drinks.

It just depends on the situaction. In general I think you can give your discounts to anyone, with any restriction, so long as all the information and restrictions are listed on the discount.

Yes it very much legal and tendering action of marketing.

Discount!! It’s a lovely sound in marketing. It may be in various packages, and certainly not for all.

Like periodical discount, which would buy a certain time they would get it, i.e. everybody is eligible for that discount but bindings by time frame.

Similarly it may be on volume, on quantity; may be on mod of payment like if paid in cash they will get certain discount. It is nothing wrong…

I don't believe that it is illegal to give discounts to selected customers but it is immoral.
