I think something like religion might appear so people could explain how and why they got there and as ameans to control others.
You know same as developed here on Earth.

You're saying that people started living there with some basic knowledge of how to survive on mars, plus that somehow their brain thingies were not exposed or were erased of earth history.

There would always be things, incoming data that defies explaination that could provide seed motivation for developing a "faith" that things have a purpose.

People assume life has a purpose but where people get that from is from other humans who generally exist within a society in order to obtain basic information to survive. Therefore, there always is a minimal amount of faith in each other's conformity to assist each other. That's what's called a society which is based on a set of beliefs each member shares.

I believe some people might create a set of behaviors they would do ritually to give life some additional meaning eventually.

NOpe ... for sure noone can say...
But if WE start it as new on somewhere else ..
then we must put them away , but i think most of modern thinking people has done it already ...
So in next 50-60 years i think that thre shall be something like Enlightment rebuilding for a big part of people ...
At least i hope so.

But for sure people everywhere shall live more happy life if they forgot about religions..

P.S.
Anyway i'm truly happy that someone else start to imagine at least for a second world without religions :)

they would come up with a new religion. religion is not about truth, its just about who is stronger. the stronger one always wants to tell all other people what to believe in. doesn't everybody think that one`s own believe and religion is the only truth and the best believe/religion on earth. (or lets say explanation and answer for all these unsolved and mostly unsolvable questions on earth, or mars, wherever).

Someone would have to be in charge... that someone would have to show that he was put in charge by someone or something higher than himself. He would have to establish a faith in which he could play off the fears of his followers while giving him the entitlement of his elevated position. Thus religion and politics would be born anew.

Of course it would. Religion was invented to explain to people who are suffering, why they are suffering. It was also invented to control people. As long as there are people who are suffering there will be religion. As long as people need to be controlled there will be authority figures telling them that if they don't do as they're told the supreme boogey man in the clouds will get them. As long as there are human beings there will be suffering, and there will certainly be people who need to be controlled. There will also b people who want to control other people even though the other people don't actually need to be controlled and the one who wants control probably needs to be controlled.
