I don't remember the most original I have heard. But the most original idea I ever had is that someone ought to come up with a device that will spread lotion on your back when there is no one else around. I'm still waiting.

This is completely unfair. I mean, really, shouldn't the answer be something like "The wheel" or "fire" or the like? after all, when it was initially created, it was original. But if I came up with it today, it's certainly not original!
If I were Christian I could say "all creation" as an idea of god, but seeing as how my personal theory is that the "first cause" isn't sentient, the universe isn't an idea. Sadness.

the most amusing original idea i ever heard was one that comedian Ron White attributed to his wife. it was a very funny and effective method of birth control, with kind of a genetic twist. you'll have to listen for yourself, don't want to ruin it for you!

Sorry, too broad of a question. Do you mean, the first or a bright invention? or the first guy that made fire? or the best of making dogs domestic? way too broad of a question to answer with any intelligence.
