I like reading and writing reviews for Amazon because I feel that the people typing up the reviews are honest. With magazines, sometimes I feel that the good books get reviewed nicely, the average books get reviewed neutrally, but that the really bad books are politely ignored...leaving the public unwarned. And especially if you're buying books online...where you can't pick them up and read a few pages and whatnot...that you can seriously waste your money. All that being said, you can't always trust that your opinion will mesh with the various reviews that you read. It's normal for there to be variable responses to any book: loved it, hated it, it was okay. What one person loves, another one may find loads of faults in. Reviews--even reviews in so-called professional journals--are not objective. So as I said, I read Amazon reviews.

But I also have my own website where I post reviews of children and YA books.

I use Amazon.com. There you will find a summary of the book and reviews by people who have read it...

Well, you might try my website at http://www.mtaonline.net/~fom where I included reviews for my novel. You shall see I did not edit them to favor my work, and some are interesting to evaluate. But if you desire reviews of your own work, try: wwforums.com
