Lighter fluid - saturate area, let sit for a minute or 2 and rub off - may take a second treatment to remove residual stickiness

To elaborate on other advice to use Goo Gone, Goop, and/or Goof Off, DO NOT USE these products on plastic surfaces - some plastics they discolor, some plastics they make gummy or tacky - just don't risk it w/ plastic. Otherwise, I agree they are great products.

Try paint thinner, it wont harm most surfaces and it will work wonders. Acetone is a key part, nail polish remover has a small amount of it but it can be bought straight as well. I like to keep some around just in case, it takes anything off of a hardwood floor and i water it down to make my own nail polish remover. It is acidic so you have to be careful there is a possibility of skin irritation.

Go buy "Goop" or some sort of "Goop Remover" and splash some on a paper towel, then rub the surface where the residue is, and Whalah!

I have the same problem, I used 100mph tape to secure plastic onto my truck passenger window when someone broke into it. Now that residue won't come off, and I'm afraid to use adhesive remover because it might rub out the paint.

If you find a paint friendly solution, please let me know.

A hospital supply company - They have a cleaner that will bring it off in jiffy. I've used it -it came in a like wet/dry packet can't remember the name but it does work like magic. Rubbing alcohol will work too but it won't be easy if it's alot.

The only safe and effective option is a blow dryer......most people have them, so it's also free. Just heat up the surface and the goop melts and becomes maleable.

Goo Gone is AWESOME! My mom used that on everything.

rsantos19~~It removes road haze (tar) from cars, so I see no reason to not use it on the stuff left on your car from the tape.
