Wash your skin 2-3 times daily. I use Crest extra whitening toothpaste for my skin, and it works real good, but most people don’t use toothpaste. When washing or applying medical treatment make sure you rub up, it’s more effective that way. Here’s why; you skin cells stack on eachother like shingles on a roof, going up or against the shingle (skin cells) you get underneath the roof (skin). Going down or with the shingles wouldn’t do as much because it rests on top of your skin (roof), so when Appling makeup go down.

Makeup should be used to accent your good looking qualities, the best thing for makeup is if it makes you look better but no one notices you have any on. (This is coming from a strait guy, just a tip for your other question).

Anyway back to the oil thing, there are some companies (clean&clear is one of them) that makes small portable compact sheets of paper-type things. 2in x 3in is about the size and they are made to absorb oil. One little package contains like 48 sheets (or something like that). Use a sheet or two during the day when nobody is looking.

There are also similar sized packets that don’t just absorb oil. They come in individual packets and are soaked in a liquid with alcohol in the liquid. These also work well but, people will notice you smell like alcohol, and that can be really weird.

There are also pills that basically kill the little dudes in your body producing the oil. I would NOT recommend pills, I just don’t think they are safe. Plus you need to put up with prescriptions and maybe some blood tests or even worse; doctors.

I apply a cream to my face at night that prevents more oil from coming out of my skin. I use it to treat acne, not just to reduce oil. When used too much it will cause excessive dryness. ALSO. . . only use this if you also have acne. This syuff was made to reduce acne, not just to reduce oil. This product is also made by “Clean & Clear” (a branch off of “Johnson & Johnson”), it’s called PERSA-GEL. There are other companies that have similar products, but I personally don’t prefer them. What makes this a good acne treatment is the “active ingredient” “benzoyl peroxide”. It’s 10% benzoyl peroxide, the same percentage as most other similar products.

Hope that I helped you out.

First off thank GOD you HAVE oily skin. I have it and am 53. I hear compliments ALL the time on how great and unlined my skin is..........even from the dermatologists!!!!!!!!! That oil is what will keep you young looking! In the meantime just wash your face a lot but always wear moisturizer esp in the winter. Believe it or not the best one I found was Walmarts version (Equate) of Oil of Olay. Equate is in a pump bottle and actually thicker than the real thing. Their night cream should be used under the eyes..pat it on, don't rub. Don't forget under the eyebrows. Always rub a little vaseline over your eyelashes at night to condition them. In a few weeks you'll see longer lashes! On really bad days try astringent on a cotton ball. Carry a little bottle with you. . . twice a week try a clay mask. Try Mud if it's still on the market. Or Queen Helene spearmint. They have a matching astringint. It won't be so oily as you age, but will always be there. All you can do is control it. Try to stay away from foundation and powder. It will cake over oily skin. I speak from experience!

After years of searching for an answer and trying a bunch of products, I found out that you have to first see what causes the excessive oil. After figuering that out, try Origins products for oily skins. These products have saved my life. I used to think that I had holes in my skin. Get Down is a cleanser that can be also used as a mask. Usage of this made my skin free of acne and oil. Oil Refiner is one of the best toners in the market for oily skins. Matte Scientist is a moisturizer and another product of Origins that does wonders in keeping oil at bay.

Controlling oily skin varies with one's skin type.. sometimes skin may be oily but it is blemish free.. at times skin may be oily and with pimple outbreaks... one thing is for sure, skin outbreaks are caused by bacteria that gets through when the skin is left uncared for.

Did you know that having an oily skin is a gift? Having oily skin will prevent you from having premature wrinkles. Those who have oily skin are not prone to wrinkles as they age because the oil glands are still active as they age, compard to those with dry skin. SO you do not have to get rid of it.. once you get to your 30's or 40's you'll benefit from it.

The best way for you to take care of your oily skin is to keep it clean at all times. If you do not have to wear make-up, don't. But if you must, I suggest that you use water-based foundation and pressed powder. When you wash your face, use a facial wash or a facial soap that is hypo-allergenic. The rest that you apply on your face should be hypo-allergenic. Keep your pores closed by applying a toner and an astringent at night... and a toner before applying make-up. Drinking lots of water and keeping away from stress, alcohol and smoking also helps maintain the youthful glow. Sleep early and get enough rest... take vitamin E supplement... it will help too.

like 1 of the ppl who answered, oily skin is a blessing. No worries for wrinkles and creases. But we need to learn to control the amount it produces and keep our skin healthy.

We need to practice the normal skincare regimes,
cleanse,tone,moisturise.

Find oil free products. Wash ur face twice a day, If ur wearing makeup, please make sure u cleanse it and do ur 3 step regime. So your skin can breathe night time.

Get to know your skin more, get some professional advice, find the products thats suitable on ur oily skin, for etc, ur makeup..so it doesnt add more builds up...

Moisturiser is necessary cause at times our skin is oily on the surface but dry within...thats y its important to get to know your skin type...and get the right products...eat more fruits and veggies..drink 8 glasses of plain water everyday to detox ur body and skin. Eat more fish too..........

Hope my lil piece of advice....helps ....

Causes vary. Consult a dermatologist. The usual simple solution is a change in diet since many things your body rejects or doesn't need usually comes out somewhere.
