My husband always wants expensive gifts but he buys me cheap ones unless I ask for something specific?

Men in general are poor at knowing what a woman wants.
That's because you girls like to be so secretive. If you must, tell someone else to come right out and tell him what to get you for your birthday. They can say, this is what she told me she wants.

They can also say this is a list of the things she told me she would like. Pick from this list.

Then it's not you saying it and you can be surprised when you get it.

My boyfriend is constantly telling me that men don't want hints... about ANYTHING! He says the thing guys want most in the world, (well, besides sex) is for women to tell them exactly what they want. He HATES to guess!

I'm thinking that your husband is just really lousy at picking out gifts. Some men are. My dad is. The gifts he sometimes gets my mom..... ewwww!

So, just tell him what you want. And ask for what you REALLY want, even if you feel it's expensive. Your husband obviously has no problems asking for what he wants.

Buy him the cheapest thing he asks for, & ask for the most expensive thing you really want. If he complains- tell him you're only trying to follow his example.
