I mean not affliated with any church. A secular person could believe in God and not go to church or believe in Jesus Christ.

I wouldn't vote for him solely because he's secular. I would have to agree with some of his policies and believe that he would make a good leader for our country. I know there was a huge portion of our population that voted for Bush because he called himself "God's Candidate," thus making himself seem like an ethical man with values.

I will definitely be more likely to vote for someone who doesn't advertise their their religious beliefs.

Most Presidents we've had have been decidedly secular in terms of implemented policy.

By the way, "secular" means "seperate, distant from, or lack of religion" in most cases. That *is* what you meant, right?

When any political leader, presents themselves as religous.I would'nt hold that for or against them.Rather I'd look at thier policies, aims and targets for the nation overall. If they propounded thier religous beliefs as part of that policy I'd not entertain them

Probably not.

But it wouldn't be because (s)he was secular. It's that most likely their policies wouldn't agree with mine.

Of course. But the question should not be asked: consider the last phrase of Article VI of the Constitution. (Look it up.)
