Dont buy a BIOSTAR motherboard. They are the generic brand which is why their price is low. As for whether they will work together, you will have to do research. I do this for a living and to answer your question, I would have to charch you $25 an hour. It is called a consultation fee.

Ive built several computers, check this out why not go to walmart and buy an emachine for 348.00 bucks, it has 3.2 celeron Pentium, 80gig hardrive 512 ram, integrated sound and video, what you can do is upgrade it. It has 2 slots for ram, I am not sure which ram is compatible with it, you can put another hardrive in there, I would buy like 2 200 gig seagate barracuda or similar, really you dont need a big graphix card and the sound is good without buying sound blaster, Alls you need is a monitor comes with keyboard and mouse, but all the stuff you mention sounds good, sounds like it will work, how many slots do you have for ram, I bought corsair 1 gig chips all identical so you can run them as dual, but they have to be identical.

I'd like to suggest u to buy Intel processor instead of AMD. Buy a duel core Intel Pentium D processor with a Intel made motherboard. If u think intel motherboard is little expensive then, u can choose a "Asus" motherboard with a intel chipset.
One more thing, If u buy a 512MB of RAM then buy two 256MB of RAM module instead of single 512MB module. In this way u can use "duel channel". So, the data transfer between RAM and processor will be double. Install both RAM in different RAM channel, usually same color in different channel. For example, If your motherboard has four RAM slot, then u have to install first RAM in slot 1 and other in slot 3. In this way, u can use duel channel.

Sounds fine for a mid range system. Just make sure you wear an anti static wrist strap while putting it all together and watch the screw lengths on the HDD, too long and they can do damage. Consult the motherboard manual often while connecting such things as front USB slots and headphones and microphone sockets, make sure you plug all the power plugs into the motherboard and video card if it needs one. otherwise good luck!

Your list looks like that would make a good computer. The only things that I would change would be a better video card to match the rest of your hardware, and a DVD burner instead of just a DVD Rom.

Don' buy any thing unless you know if its gonna be a bare bone kit all together. Then if it is from a kit then you know they will not send you something that works half u know what! You might get some one that says "do it" why not?" ya ta ya ta whatever. But from experience who has built his own computer with all the good stuff that came with it. Buy it in a kit and then and only then will you know that u have the right one.

you forget the floppy driver..,and might wanne install some ports while your at it..,like USB and stuff..,and see too it,if you buy, that it comes with wyres,..if you have to buy them, that cost xtra.
if you build, first only get basics in it,motherboard,processor,HD,dvd,floppy..,then get basic software in it,so u can add the rest of the hardware, with software included, saves alot on buildingtime, and good way to find bugs,at an early stage..
when buiding it,dont force parts into eachother,it should go smootly..,and of course be carefull with the electronics..
and watch your electricity too,you get easely distracted while buiding it,that you forget out the electricity, and before you know it..you get the shock of your life..,we dont wanne have that,so be carefull..,enjoy your build..
