What guy's? But than again if you knew that, why would you be asking that question? Must be because they are piss poor excuses of human beings.

I think most theifs who are not professional, and yours would seem to be the common amateur type, feel a mixture of fear, thrill and trepidation when they break into a house. They are not looking to get caught and so are likely to go after a house which looks to be vulneralbe. Hence they dont rob a mansion or expensive house which is likely to have a good security system, but instead a house which is poorer and likely to have no protection.
The same thing happens with cars. An older, poorer car is more likely to be stolen than a more expensive car. I should know, my shitty car got stolen but luckily only for the ride home and was put a couple of streets from my house.
The thieves were probably looking for drug money.

Do you have an idea who did it? Some people break in as revenge for something. A boyfriend of my stepsister stole my entire cd-collection as revenge for something my stepsister did. I felt like Wisconsin (look it up).

Some people from the school I went to broke into other peoples' houses for fun. They particularly liked to break into old peoples' houses, while granny was still in the house. The story does have a happy ending, because they did get caught, eventually.

You might have been a random target. That happens too.

they probably saw something they liked. Like in my case my husband 300 dollar speakers got stolen from our garage and darn dog didn't even bark they broke the fence and walk right past the dog so it had to be someone we new. They came again the next night because the garage door was a crack open and the pin that locks the door was taken off. who knows who it is. Hope you catch the culprit

It probably wasn't personally against you. Drug dependency often fuels acts that have never been considered by those not dependent. They were probably desperate to avoid getting sick from needing a fix. It is truly a terrible self induced disease. After they pawn the stolen goods, they have relief from withdrawl...for a while. Beef up your security if you can. Sorry it happened, but trust me...they probably have a family who is very devistated as well as stolen from.

Which guys? lol ----- People will steal anything they can get their hands on to get drugs, extra cash or whatever. You stated that you don't have much worth stealing.. but you do have some or you would have stated that you don't have ANYTHING worth stealing.

They may not know that you have nothing extensively valuable in your house. When I lived in China, I was broken into three times. Each time, nothing valuable was taking; only sentimental items. Nonetheless, whomever robbed me must have thoiugh I was well off being a foreigner.
