Abortion is wrong no matter how you slice it. 48 million abortions since 1973 makes every human tragedy this century seem small. This argument over a women's right does not extend beyond the rights of the unborn although unwanted child. The vast majority of women that become pregnant have acted irresponsibly and need some way to justify their pathetic behavior. I see them for what they are.

I don't think it's wrong, but I'm something of a nihlist so I don't really think anything is "wrong" per say. Rather, I can say a few things:
1.) Abortion is not murder if it is legal. Murder is inheritly defined as an illegal act.
2.) Even if you can qualify fetuses as human beings, that doesn't automatically make them a person (any more than it'd be unfair to classify a space alien with sentience as not being a person).
3.) That being said, if we are to determine whether or not a fetus is a person (assuming that that's the determination we're using for right or wrong in regards to abortions; if it's that it's a human being, and we don't care about whether it's got a brain, that's different), we really have to look into the fetus' cerebral capabilities. How much awareness does it have of its surroundings? Does it have anything that can be considered to be desires?
Personally I take an economic point of view. What's the utility of the entity coming into the world, compared to the resources that it will consume? What's the effect on the nation knowing that it embraces baby killing, or that it denies women the ability to control their own bodies?
If anyone's read freakonomics... it's a bit iffy.
As a personal standpoint, I'm more likely to support Pro-abortion posistion, because I find that the anti-abortion league tends to use buzz words and raw emotional response, rather than logical arguements (mostly because it works better).

Abortion isn't wrong. A women should have the right to choose what she does with her own body and nobody else should overide or influence that right. Why bring an unwanted child into the world to be put up for adoption when adoption has proven to be a crap shoot in every society on this planet? If a forster child finds good parents or abusive ones the abusive ones seem to outweigh taking the chance as that is the cruelest of hands to be dealt with in life. The fact that child abuse is rampant throughout the adoption proccess at every level of the system I'm totally against feeding into it by abolishing abortion. Simply leave the decision up to the women and not the goverment. This country needs to seperate church and state alot more and steer clear of taliban or middle eastern run government styles that marry religion and state.

YES! I believe abortion is wrong. This has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with murder. I do agree, however, that there are some circumstances, but very very few, where it needs to be a choice. As in a life or death situation with the mother. No, I would never have an abortion.

If you aren't ready to have a child, then don't. If you discover you're pregnant and you aren't ready for it then get it aborted immediately. It's about the potential life that you're about to mess up.
Would you want to be born unwanted? Then why bring an unwanted life into existence. It's not healthy for the child and it's not healthy for the couple's relationship.
Of course, I am not a woman. I would not be the one with the profound experience of a life growing inside me. The actual act of aborting a potential life would be a gut-wrenching emotionally painful experience that I can't even begin to fathom.
So while this is my belief, it is easier said than done. And at the end of it all it is no one's decision but the woman's. Maybe if men could get pregnant then the politics of this issue would of been solved long ago.

I don't think anybody would say abortion is Right. I'm not pro abortion I"m pro choice. I think my opinion on whether abortion is right or wrong varies with each different circumstance. I've had a few friends who had abortions and I think they felt they made the right decision for their situation. I don't agree with girls who seem to use it as a form of birth control. That disgusts me.
I wouldn't have an abortion now, but if I had gotten pregnant when I was younger then I think I would have had one.

No--in all seriousness. At least not in the first trimester. If there's anything morally wrong with a first trimester abortion then amputation of living tissue is a mortal sin.
I draw the line when the nervous system develops to a point where there's the possibility of experiencing pain, which CANNOT occur before late in the second trimester. (Still looking for good data on when it does happen.)
(I'm not a candidate for an abortion, but yes I would if I believed it to be the right act under the circumstances.)

I would never have an abortion, even if my very life depended on it.
I have thought about this topic quite extensively. These are babies we're talking about. The media, democrats and liberals and socialists all try to smooth talk it over with names. But when you put it like, "killing an innocent life", as it really is, it's a lot harder to swallow.
The fact is, if you are the type to kill your own offspring, GO GET FIXED OR DON'T HAVE SEX. Duh!!
If you think of getting one (sick) then re-think and be heck give the child a chance and give it up for adoption for crying out loud. There are so many people who can't have kids anyway and who have been waiting for months, years, to have a child!! So, do EVERYBODY a favor by doing an adoption instead of a murder.

You bet abortion is wrong. It isn't about women's rights. It should be about the rights of children. You always hear that the woman should have the right to choose. I think the only thing the woman should be choosing is to keep her legs closed. Come on, why would you perform the act of procreation if you couldn't take the consequences? I mean, you have to deal with the consequences of everything else in life, right? Why not this?
I would never have an abortion!

no i would never personally have one, but if you were raped and got pregnant as a result, would you want to look at that child and be reminded of what happened to you. my sister recently had an abortion because her 2 children she has are in foster care and she didnt want to upset or hurt her other 2 children she also thought of having another baby taken and didnt want that to happen as she is seeing the mental and psychological abuse her children suffer while in care, i under stood, although i wanted her to have that baby more than anyone else.some people have an excuse, but not the young girls today who think sex is fun, they should be made to have an abortion until they are an appropriate age, because they think they will never have to work if they have kids, other than that abortions should only take place if there is an exceptional enough reason to do so, not this it was an accident crap.
