i currently own a 95 mustang v-6...it has good power for a 6 cylinder. But i want to upgrade to a 4.6 or 5.0 because I am going ahead redoing everything to it. How much would it cost for a good used GT engine and tranny? I had a guy told me he would sell me both for 1100 bucks. and that was w/o warranty and he didnt know the mileage for the engine. Is that a good deal? and where are some sites i can go to buy an engine and tranny other than ebay? and would the power be increased by alot? For all you that answer, i greatly appreciate it.

sell the 95 and put the money down on a GT that has a warranty. Buy a used engine and trans. and wonder what happened to the car that they were in? Why redo a good Ford 4.6 when it has plenty of power already? The engine may change, but the speed limit won't.

attempt jacking up the lower back wheels, start up it, placed it into kit and notice if it makes the sound. if so, then take it aside and look for loose/lacking bolts, products of medicine (like i recent in my 'sixty 5 mustangs rear end as a results of fact some jerk-off did no longer placed a bearing into the casing - and it snapped slightly the case off and destroyed the ring kit) If it would not make it whilst it somewhat is under capability, then what you're listening to may be customary.
