hmmm Lois Lane was present in the fortress of Solitude when Superman was made to step back into the chamber and "Give up his powers" Lois and Lex Luther were exposed to the rays which removed Gen Zod's and his fellow evil Superhenchmen's powers now here is where one has to get "kinda nasty" technical by this time Superman as a changed human, had sex with Lois presumably with no condom therefore his regular human sperm while travling in Lois Lane but the regular sperm was also exposed to the power releiving rays as well which were already turned human so further exposure to those rays may have and in this case did make the ordinary Clark Kent sperm super again. and as seen in the movie his powers are latent so it remains to be seen how much of his fathers Super abilities he inherited.. Excellent Question!!

A. By the end of Superman 2 he gets his powers back.
B. Superman Returns is a different movie, not necessarily based on the first two, and ignoring the last two.
That's what makes it such a good movie.

Don't go by the movies... they suck.

Except for the original Chris Reeves Superman. That's the only good one.
