I am not a Harry Potter fan but what is in Daniel Radcliffe that people are crazy for?

I kind of disagree. I don't think Daniel Radcliffe is making the Harry Potter mania go all over the globe. The books, the story, is what makes people of all ages be obsessed with Harry Potter.
Daniel Radcliffe's acting skills don't impress me at all, even tough I went to the cinema to see all the movies a billon times. It's the story that makes it really magical.
Well, that's what I think.

I admit that I was hesitant to start this series as it seemed very juvenile and simple, but that's part of the draw with this series. This is nothing more than detective fiction with am easy to love and hate set of characters that are going through the pain of growing up.
The novels fly by and you just find yourself stuck in that damn wizard school even though you know full well how it will all end, or at least you do as you wait for the next twist that was already told to you early on in each book, just as a good piece of detective fiction should.
The movies have been relatively true to the novels and that keeps the fanboys and gals happy. And as movies themselves, they move along rather well and don't rely excessively on special effects and have found strangely attractive characters that really mirror what most readers envisioned the characters.

I heard about Harry Potter so many years ago, and I was absolutely not interested on the books. About six months ago, I bought the first book because my six year old boy always talked about it and loved the movies; so I wanted to check out what was the thing.
Now I've finished the 6 books and I have to admit that I love the story, I don't know exactly what is it, but it takes you in to the book and makes you want to continue reading, at last that happened to me!
So, now we are 2 big Harry Potter fans in my house! =)

i hate harry potter...it's just the magic tricks, the atmosphere... all these...many people are addicted to harry potter! Daniel Radcliffe is just the star in the movie... so he's famous and attractive! it could be any other person, though!! but he's not so beautiful...

i have no idea. he's a rubbish actor that has the same facial expressions as keanu reeves. yup that's right..none.
honestly ppl are more fascinated by the book series than anything else. and the movies help to make the wizard world come alive. its nice to see how they brought details into the movie that the book doesn't stress. like the floating candles on the dinner tables, talking pictures, and other stuff. he just got lucky is my opinion. again kind of like keanu reeves...argh i hate bad actors that get too much credit.

i really don't like Harry Potter at all. I think the books are too fantasy like and too childish. The movies are ok, but I like realism. I like to see and read stories about teens who are in trouble, hooked on drugs, in gangs, in poverty.

the books are just so discriptive and surprising, and u just cant stop readin once uve started. and also, alot of fans wish they could live in that magical world. i know i kinda do! try readin them, and maybe u'll find out!! :-)

i personally think that daniel radclffe is UGLY. but some people think he's hot. I guess it's just that many people like the story.

About the book...i guess its so famous cuz its easy to read ;P when you start reading...you cant stop till the last book.
