Is it me or has everyone else learned today that people are addicted to Yahoo Messenger and Myspace. I mean just by the huge number of people freaking out about it on here today I felt like that I accidentally walked into a drug rehab clinic with everyone having withdraw symptoms.

Speaking from a sociological point of veiw do you feel that this need has a negative effect on a person's well being and their involvement in society? Could this be considered on par with other addictions which are encountered in society? What is your opinion on the issue?

Internet addiction is a real thing, certainly.

But today? maybe its just a bunch of people with way too much time on their hands. Remember that school's out, and its late at night, so we have droves of unsupervised children with nothing to do and no place to go besides talk with their friends and so on.

at any rate, its annoying as h3ll to see all these "OMG YAHOO MSGR IS DOWN? " "IS ANYBODY ELSE NOT GETING INTO MYSPACE" and "WTF IS W MYSPACE" messages, over and over.

Last time I checked, it was "yahoo answers", not "yahoo messageboard". Maybe its just me.

What happened to day?

I have already learnt that many people have become addicted to Q&A, by asking the question and getting many replies from the addicts.
But, any way, it is a good addiction, improving your knowledge, and letting you not to go to have the 'High' things, which are detrimental to your health and purse.

Yeah, it was prime stupidity at it's finest today. Dang, I came home, logged on and there were all these questions about messenger/email and MySpace.
Honestly. I had no problems whatsoever with my email, so it didn't affect me, but all those questions and none of them seemed to notice they were NOT the first to ask. It's like they all went on automatic!
