if you got a pap test that came back with abnormal cells it meant you had hpv. doctors don't like to tell you that because hpv means warts but not everyone with it gets them. you might want a doctor to look down the baby's throat to make sure he doesn't have any, it's possible you had hpv and didn't know it and he got it coming out of the birth canal. doctors like keeping things like this a secret so they don't "scare" you....this is also where cervical cancer and dysplasia come from by the way. one of the most common signs of hpv in a baby's throat is the hoarse voice.

Laryngeal papillomatosis affects infants and small children as well as adults. Between 60 and 80 percent of cases occur in children, usually before the age of three. Because the tumors grow quickly, young children with the disease may find it difficult to breathe when sleeping, or they may experience difficulty swallowing.

My 10 month old boy went through the same thing at that age. He sounded like an old asthmatic laughing. We took him to the doctor and he said it may be a cold but not to worry.

he may be sick you should keep a eye on him and check for fever internally and tell your dr even over the phone because more than likely she will say tylenol or motrin for infants
