like somewhere that is safe and monitered. My daughter is 9 and her cousin is twelve and want a room to chat in. any suggestions?

Teach the children to write letters, to use the telephone constructively and whenever possible to meet each other and have real contact. Please do not encourage your child to enter chat rooms, there are better ways to communicate.

Keep them out of chat rooms. They are not safe for unmonitored children. And you should be watching them at all times on the computer, don't you watch the news? If they want to talk they can email each other. And you should be checking the history to see where your child has been when she is on the computer. If children were old enough or responsible enough to take care of themselves they would not need parents or laws protecting them.

I'm sorry to say that you will never finda chat room that is safe for kids, love. No matter how monitored they are. The creepy-crawlies out there will do anything and everything they can to get at kids, and this includes impersonating kids themselves. Just don't risk it.

aol has some very close monitored rooms but even then some creeps slip in ,i do not have aol,no one has to have aol to use the chat rooms ,just search aol chatrooms,i do not even like aol but it is one of the best places for kids to chat
