Well I've lived in both places but if I could choose I'd live in Canada.
Australia is a beautiful country, but Canada's scenery is spectacular. There's plenty of space in Australia, most of it uninhabitable desert, but there are seasons in Canada and I like that aspect. Also the clincher for me was that Canadians don't have a chip on their shoulder like the Aussies and I made lots of friends there very quickly, unlike Aus. where I lived for years and suffered a lot of racist abuse. So...... take your pick!

Having lived in both, I would say that it depends on your age. When I was young and raising my sons, I found Canada (Alberta) to be a very good place. Frozen winter kills a lot of germs.
Now, as I approach 70, I appreciate not having to cope with shoveling snow and spending vast amounts on keeping warm.

I'm biased because I live in Aussie but I know folk that have gone to Canada and loved it there and will not return except for a holiday to see family.

Both great countries. No need to compare. Each one rocks for different reasons...
