Every pregnancy is different with different issues. Are you over weight? Over 30, 40?

My mother had pregnancy diabetes, and it occurs for most pregnancies, but not all of them. Also, you are at a greater risk of developing type II diabetes now, so watch out, and take care. Talk to a doctor about your concerns, and follow a healthy diet.

not always but your chances are pretty good, also not to scare you or anything but women who experience gestational diabetes are more apt to develope full blown diabetes later in life......try to keep your weight down(after thepregnancy of course) and stick to a healthier way of eating & exercise....this should help in all aspects of your life but also "may" help to prolong the onset of diabetes

No, every pregnancy is different as well as every child is different. I also think that if you think there is a chance you need to speak with your doctor.
