Oh geez no
Did you know that 80% of the wealth in the USA was inherited? Also, did you know a man, emphasis on male, can go start a blue collar business like being a plumber and make more than a female who is a mechanical engineer. (my sister is mech. eng. I know this)
Brains have nothing to do with wealth. I call them idiots with a wallet.
And yes a lot of the wealthy are republicans because the repub party tends to believe that wealth trickles down to society if you cut their taxes, etc... which history has proven never happens.

I'd say it is false. Many rich people are just idiots who inherited money from rich daddy's. That doesn't make them smart.
I think most rich people probably are Republican, because the Republican party makes it their priority to help the wealthy at the expense of the other 95% of the population. I am fairly well-off, and am extremely liberal, so it's definitely not a slam-dunk by any means.

For instance your president: Perhaps his political speeches are so silly NOT because of their adaptation to our level of thinking?
Cheap metaphors instead of objective facts. Statements impossible to be proved or denied in any objective way. Inference with help of lyrics, metaphors.
Perhaps he understands the world that way? Like ancient thinkers.
Of course such statements ("partially true" and "partially false") are necessary for systems with incomplete information. Notions like "young" or "tall", for instance. They are frequently used while speaking about criminal events, because gangsters keep their identity in secret. If a journalist says the politician X is young he knows perfectly when Mr. X was born. It is no case of criminal event, earthquake etc. It is a propaganda case.
And you follow your president when you use the terms "rich" and "smart" in your question. Bravo!
But maybe I'm wrong. I'm not sure.

While many people will make the traditional promise to lose weight or quit smoking this January, one New Year’s resolution that truly could benefit Americans is to get out of debt and begin a regimen of healthy financial management. According to CardWeb, the typical household carried an average of $9,300 in credit card debt in 2004. Not very smart. get out of debt be smart even if you are poor.

I'm with Jim_D. I was going to say Ted Kennedy, but his was MUCH better.
How about, "No, some are blond."?
There are plenty of rich people who aren't republicans. I'm one of the poorest people in my family (and I ain't doin' bad) and I think that I'm the only Republican.
My family includes about 100 people (out to second cousins, once removed).

however a better question to ask is:
Are all people who work their way up to being rich smart?
heirs are not necissarily smart, but the person who brought all the money into the family might be

Saying people are all one way or another is "always" going to be false, because it is a generalization.
