you can try henna, they sell it at beauty supply stores.

sometimes I just use lemon juice to add streaks to my hair and it will make the grey look blondish, so it depends on what color your starting with.
also if you go in to a salon and get a color weave (sometimes called low lights or a foil) they don't get the product onto your scalp until it's being washed out, so there is very minimal contact.
Haven't tried it myself but I have read of using tea and even coffee before, I have used both of these as a natural dye for cloth.
I would contact an herbalist.
