I’m not usually shy wen it comes to certain thingy mah commutation skills are excellent I must say but wen it comes to performing I freeze. U see, I have been planning this party for da longest n I have to do a special dance (reggaeton) in front of all mah guests n every time I practice I freeze n I just stand there while mah backup dancers dance…n they all family…well most of them but still we all are mad close. How do I get over mah shyness or wat ever it is? Cuz I don’t wanna look like a fool da day of mah party

I am really shy too, but I love to dance. To practice, practice in front of a mirror that way you see what you look like, (or record yourself if you dont have a mirror) and if it is bad, then you can fix it. You must get rid of the shyness to be seen dancing by watching yourself. Try blindfolding yourself so you can't see anything. In the end, if you know that you look good, then that is all that matters. Have confidence in yourself and everyone else will see it too. I love reggae and I wish you the best of luck!~

That used to happend to me (im a singer) all you have to do is just pretend that youre by yourself, and if you mess up you just keep going, not a big deal. And for the fact that there will be people in the crowd looking at you, just don't look at them look at something on the wall behind all of them (but dont concentrate on that too hard lol). But what I would do (especially when i would go up against other singers is just think in your mind I KNOW I AM MUCH BETTER THAN THEM, and just pretend that youre only there to show off your stuff, not to try not to lose or anything. Anyways, good luck, and just stay relaxed and practice, just pretend your alone =].

Pretend that there is no one in the room-not even your back up dancers if you have to. That's what I do. Especially when I'm dancing in front of people I know-that makes me even more nervious. Try it and see if it helps. I hope it does.

Go out and dance in public; dance in the park, dance down the store aisle, dance while waiting in line for whatever, dance when the teacher turns his back, go dance for the old folks.

practice in front of a mirror, or get a video camera and watch yourself on tv to get over it.
