My guinea pigs did this, too, for the first few days they were home. They've been at my place for almost 2 weeks and now they're eating like, well, pigs ^.^ .
Most animals won't eat in a new home because it stresses them out too much. As they adjust to their new home and the new schedule, they'll slowly start eating more. I found my guys felt a lot better when I used the same brand or the same type of food they used at the pet store I got them from. Apparently it cuts down on stomach upset. Fresh Timothy hay is by far their favorite food and they won't stop wheeking (that oinking noise) until they get a large portion of it, LOL!

If they are 4 weeks or over, there may be a problem. Make sure they are eating guinea pig food and not the cheapest brands available. We recommend any except Wal-Mart and Hartz brands. A guinea pigs poop should look like very dark elongated pellets. Guinea pigs eat their own poop too. This is normal. Put their food in a small dish to see how much is eaten. Make sure the front teeth are not overgrown. Please do not use cedar shavings.

They are probably just getting use to their new environment.Make sure you keep plenty of food and fresh water in their cage.NEVER hold a guinea pig by it's tail...it's eyes will pop out!â¥

They have to get used to the surroundings and you, believe me when they do start eating your going to be sorry. They usually eat in early morning and they will let you know whn their hungry cause they squeel every time and loud.

when we bought ours they were like that but now every time we rustle a bag they go crazy thinking were getting them some lettuce.
