I wanna get like a Randy Rhoads... Zakk Wylde type deal goin' on by having the ability so solo, but still be able to rock a narly metal riff too. So what's an appropriate guitar guage string.... and do u guy's think that Earnie Ball's are good???? THANX!!

Depends on your level of finger experience. I've always had good results with medium to heavier guage Ernie Ball's, but I'd stay away from the lighter guages, unless you are a beginner who can't finger notes with the heavier guages. You just can't get a good solid sound with the lighter (and I include medium light in that assessment) guage strings. Dean Markleys are another brand I have had good results with.
