My ex is crazy...to put it in the most polite way possible....she is bi-polar....she won't get tested so I don't know for sure ....but she is so Jekyl and Hyde......she will turn in to the absolute anti-christ when we are alone...and then be so sweet when others are around....it makes everything so difficult......I am finally moving out but she is using my daughter against me......I am the furthest thing from a dead beat dad.....I am the one who wakes up with her in the middle of the night....feeds her......and if anything my guilt is of never being able to put her down...she on the other hand thinks taking care of our daughter is putting her on the ground on a blanket while she smokes her friggin cigarettes.....I want to file custody...because i don't think the baby is truly safe...can I do that with the stringent mother always gets the baby court system?.....I work and make very good money....does anybody know how good my chances are?...I have thought about getting a hidden camera...

YOU would have a VERY good case. I would go for FULL CUSTODY if I were you!!!

DOCUMENT everything your ex does has done, with dates times witnesses etc.

I am Bi-Polar and I am extremely PROACTIVE with my illness. Meaning, I ask lots of questions, read anything & everything available on the illness and take many medications!!!

Your ex is in a state of DENIAL!!!

Well, I think you should take her to court for custody for your child. If she is the way you say she is, then you have a winning case. Get a lawyer. Tell him/her how she is. I believe that they will make it to where she would have to be tested for bi-polar. Getting a hidden camera is a great idea. I know that in most courts, a recording from the phone is not allowed unless you tell them on the tape that you are being recorded. But a hidden camera is different. You are using a camera to make sure your daughter is safe when your not around. Lots of people do this with sitters. I feel that you have a great case and the mother always win is out of reach for her. Do this soon for your daughters sake. Good luck!

I think it really depends on what state you live in as to what will happen. Most states are cracking down on bad mothers that you may have a shot. Dont let her keep you down though. If you go to court and the judge sees that you have a great job and a safe environment for your baby to live in and she doesnt than you will win. The key is the home visits that court people do to determine who gets custody. Always be ready because they show up anytime and make sure you are better in thier eyes not just your own. Good Luck! I hope you win, it's always good to se a great dad since so many kids don't have dads these days!!!

The hidden camera won't do it unless you get something going really wrong.

The courts are changing and my divorce showed me that. I have custody of two of four kids right now.

Talk to your lawyer and make sure you have proof of any accusations you've made. Get statements from people that know her and present those too. Lawyers will only do what you tell them too and respond by giving you options in a case.

Tell them you need this custody for the sake of the child and you can't back down.

First, there is no test for bi-polar. I wish people would stop saying that. Secondly, file for joint custody you stand a better chance than sole custody. Finally, if you planted a camera in your ex's house you will go to prison.
