Well right now Philadelphia has a stable job market and It is in good distance from anything yo might want to do whether it is the beach in the summer, The mountains in the fall, the history of the civil war, etc etc whatever your tastes may be.
It does have its crime like any other city, but I never had any problems my entire time living in an inner city neighborhood.
Give it a look if interested.

I would LOVE to live in LA. Anyway, :) Seattle is the best city on Earth. You would love it there.
