Perhaps it's your body's own way of trying to tell you to quit fighting to stay awake and that the pill has made you drowsy enough for sleep. Ambien is manufactured to specifically act quickly once ingested into your body and doctors and pharmacists tell this to new users of this sleep aid to be sure and only take it when you are done for the night and ready for sleep within 15 to 20 minutes. And to expect to have at least 8 full hours reserved for sleeping before you expect to have to wake up until you have gotten used to it and know exactly how it affects you. So go get your warm milk or tea, get that easy reading book, slip under the covers and stop trying to fight the medication....

Ambien causes your brain to slow down, making your eyes take longer to focus. It has a similar effect on your brain as drinking several alcoholic drinks.
