First educate yourself on what the issues are... then decide where you stand on those issues and pick the candidate that best represents you.

Vote issue by issue my friend, and see which candidates are your liking. Don't be swayed by the hatred and bitterness being thrown back and forth by both parties(as it has gotten very bad recently). I would suggest picking one of the two major parties though, as many states don't have open primaries, and a vote for a small party is sadly a wasted vote. I'm Republican, but I try not to listen to the party lines and vote usually for the most experienced and forthright candidate, regardless of party. Try not to let emotion cloud your vote.

Research. Research every candidate in every election, from local to state to federal. Vote for the person who stands for the issues YOU believe in. Pay no mind to their poltical party. Vote for the right person for you. That is democracy in action.
(Although, for the record, America is a democratic republic and not a true democracy..... but still, your vote DOES count so make it wisely.)

Sorry, Bud. Nobody knows who to vote for.
However, simply moving to America does not give you the right to vote. I hope you are a citizen.

Well I'm a democrat.
A lot of people say they cost more in taxes, but in return they help the poor, have more liberal laws, are less religious and raise minimum wages more often.

Voting for President doesn't really matter any more. Bush wasn't elected, he was appointed....both times.
