I am assuming you are not the teenager since your id is armywife.... Ultimately, the parents of the child, even if the parent is a minor, has the right to make all choices for the child the same as an adult parent. Unless the teenager gives up their rights to the child that is.
Legally, they are still a minor and fall under those legal limitations. The only difference is that they are a parent. It's sad but true.

I don't know if it differs from state to state, but from the moment you get pregnant as a teenager you are officially an emancipated minor. The technicallity with that is you only have certain rights, you can't rent an apartment unless you are 18. You can't do most things unless you're 18. The only things you really can do are make legal and medical decisions that require signatures for you and your child.
