Two soldiers kidnapped. In retaliation a country attacks two other countries killing hundreds of people, renderng thousands homeless and destroying millions of dollars worth of property.

And the world community watches like an impotent doing nothing.

Those thousands innocent men, women and children who are the victijms of this barabarous attack were not a party to the kidnapping. Don't the pictures of children mangled and homes destroyed in the mindless wanton acts of crime mean anything to you. What has happened to God's compassion and mercy?

You don't burn a house to kill the rats that have infested it with, do you?

You act like this was an isolated event.

Hamas - In last 2 years has killed hundreds with suicide bombs. Usually on buses and almost always killing at least a few children. Dozens of others have been caught including one who's bomb failed and an IQ challenged Palistinian teen saved by his brother. So when they kidnapped an Israeli soldier it was just one straw too many in an already tense situation.

Hezbolla (sounds like a disease doesn't it?) has mounted many attacks against Isreal. Isreal in the past has invaded Lebenon to create a buffer between them and the Hezbol. Long history between them. When Hezbolla started a new offensive by killing several Isreali soldiers and kidnapping more this in itself was an act of war. To do so at the same time Isreal was already fighting Hamas was beyond mere provocation. It was a dire challenge.

Isreal exists because of very agressive defense of itself and it's borders. The least sign of weakness or incompentance and half of the Arab world would instantly attack them.

Why would anybody intervene? Is Hezbolla going to listen to a negotiater until they've lost enough people? Until Hezbolla is ready to talk Isreal has no choice but to fight. Hezbolla only talks when you kill lots of Hezbolla. Peacekeeping forces would just add to potential targets and be unlikely to slow down the missle attacks. Until Hezbolla is soundly thrashed this problem will not go away. If it works on Isreal it'll be tried on Europe and the West. So Isreal if you live in the US or Europe is also our first line. Those same rockets could be landing in OUR cities. If Isreal fails here they probably will within 5-7 years.

Its a war that didn't start with just two soldiers being kidnapped. It started over 2000+ years ago. Israel has had to fight for ever for the right to the land that was promised to them. When another nation rises up and their leader says to the world that you have no right to live and should be annihilated....this is always just cause for war. The region had an opportunity for peace but within their own democracy (they made a mockery out of the system) decided to vote for a party that is bent on destroying Israel and all of her allies. These people are just as guilty in their "sins" as their leader.

The rest of the world does not want peace as they know that a war must be fought to end the tyrany of the Palistinian Govt. (this is not to say all citizens speak the same but it is the ideals of this government that is repugnent to every democratic society on this planet.

Because, to be honest, the world community is blinded by so much violence. If they said it the way you did on television, word for word, trust me, there would be an uproar. But they do not. The fact of the matter is that the media reports almost constant bad news to begin with. The top stories on all U.S. news stations involve atleast one horrible death.

somebody has to explain to all parties that killing will not solve problem, it will deepen it, create more hatred, also the people been killed on both side are mostly innocent. Also I should say somebody should stop IRAN and its ambition of exporting their obnoxious revolution to the region and the world. IRAN regime is like a cancer and should be removed.

Because they also killed 8 other soldiers, and have been fireing rockets into Israel for years. If I were to stand outside your home and shoot at you every time you come outside do you think you would get mad and do something about it.This is why even their own people hate Hezbola.Good lord just look at the news and pay attention.

As individuals, it's hard to make groups do anything. Yahoo questions is a good start to communicate without borders.

Israel has every right to attack. They are fighting Hezbolla, which is a terrorist group. This is a war on terror which involves everyone.
