With the cancellation of Enterprise and the flopping of Nemesis, Trek's been on a "hiatus" of sorts for a while.
Developing a new Trek series for Sci-Fi doesn't seem to be an option Paramount has considered--the budgets for Sci-Fi channels are much lower than Trek is used to (which is why the Sci-Fi originals are typically Canadian or Australian productions), and the production values are somewhat lower (though, yes, it could be argued that the tighter budgets foster more creative writing). With Sci-Fi's current slate of well-regarded series, they may not be interested in paying for another big-ticket show, even if it does carry the Trek brand (note the fate of Farscape and the severely scaled-down final seasons of Sliders and Andromeda).
Anyway, Trek *is* due for a comeback, with J.J. Abrams of "Lost" fame at the helm of a new movie for 2008. Trek fans right now are, as usual, at odds with each other regarding this--many are excited that someone with a lot of mainstream and geek cred is going to be in charge of Trek, but others are worried that Abrams will Hollywoodize Trek and rob it of the cerebral element that has been good Trek's hallmark. Trekkies also have mixed feelings about the possibility of Abrams discarding 40 years of existing Trek "canon" in favor of a "reboot" of the franchise with a reinvisioning (and recasting) of the Original Series characters.

i have been attempting to make certain out the completed wrestling project because it all started. obviously, i'm giving so a lot more suitable time to Spike and TNT now than I used to because there is in basic terms not something on SciFi i favor to show screen 1/2 the time. Even the Saturday action picture marathons suck because you're excellent - they're not even B video clips, they're more suitable like D video clips. Quiet as kept, if the networks - cable as well as familiar - do not commence being attentive to what people say particularly than the stupid Nielsens, they are going to discover so a lot more suitable people gazing DVD's particularly than them.
