There are so many families in which children get horrible role models, I don't see why this is such an issue!
Personally, my husband and I are both hetero and have been married for 34 years.... so it's not an issue to me.
I don't like the idea of gay relationships, but as long as they don't tell me about it.... and I don't tell them about my sex life... it's really none of my business.
Some of the nicest people I know HAPPEN to be gay, and would make very nice parents. I don't think a role model has to be of the same sex. Many women have raised very healthy boys without a male in the house. When these boys get older, they tend to seek out male companionship. If they are not gay, they don't become gay from having no father in the house.
That being said.... I do believe that it is BETTER for children to have a mother and a father who stay together and provide a loving environment for their children.
But... why pick on gay people... when there are SO many dysfunctional families out there???

gay couples should not be allowed to adopt children because in nature if they can't have a baby of their own, it's not natural for them to get to raise a child too! What is the world coming to, God made everything and everyone of a reason he made a male and female so that they can be together and advance the human race! If gay people are so adamant on making others gay and having gay people everywhere and having merry world are they retarded? Without straight people those frickin gay people wouldn't be in existence! Children need the role of both a mother and father, that is how nature intended it and so it shall remain!!!!!!!!!!!!!! InSha' Allah the guidance from Allah will prevail and the world will see the wrath put on the gay people of the world!!!!!!!

There is no reason that a couple should not be allowed to adopt a child just because they are gay. And as far as a male and a female role model--I am a single mom and my child is advanced for her age (most likely because she rarely does see her male role model i.e. father).

Sexual orientation should not hinder people in the nuturing of children. People complain that the children lack male/female influences in their life, but then what about the single parent? Isn't it the same for effect. Love is a special bonding between humans and if a child can gain insight into love and caring then it doesn't matter if they are gay. We raise our children to certain standards and teach them affection and love not by sex but by showing them how people respect and feel about each other. In both gay males and gay female couples, one of the partners is usually the dominant one, and in heterosexual couples it too happens...the male or father role is maintained and the more submissive role of the mother is retained as well. But my main thought is the number of children deprived of any affection no matter from heterosexual or homosexual couples. They remain in limbo, in foster homes (usually run for profit not the well-being of the child). Children need love as a rose needs rain. They can bloom, even if the gardener is a disabled, hump-backed, neanderthal but the love and affection is vital.

Yes. I think a child needs a MASCULINE and FEMININE role models for best psychological development.
Also, there are many children being raised by single parents... These kids obviously don't have both male and female role models...

Sure. Many gay couples have children and there are too many unwanted children in foster homes.
It has been proven that children raised in a home with gay partners grow up with an advanced ability to adapt and are emotionally more stable.
Btw, for those who say a child needs a man and a woman as a parent, would you prefer neither... many children spend their lives in foster care and never find a home.
Why can't ppl let go of their prejudices and think about the children? Wouldnt you prefer a child to find parents who love him/her no matter what the sexual orientation?

sure, IF YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO BE F*CKED UP FOR LIFE! think of the ridicule, the confusion, and punishment from a cruel world that your child would have to face.
they need male and female parents. each has a very important part in the nurturing and development of the child. physically, emotionally and yes spiritually.
save A child the pain and anguish,
get a puppy.
