My mom let me highlight my hair oncea few years ago..then the highlights faded then earlier this year I wanted to dye it completely.
My mom told me no,and I was like...huh?!

She probably wants you to embrace your natural beauty before you want to change like that.
My mom finally gave in and let me dye my hair last month.Becuase she knows Im not the type of person to change because other people are doing it,and blah blah.

Tell her you just want to experiment something different.....becuase YOU like that, not somebody else.
Make sure she knows this is YOUR choice, not a magazine's or somebody whose popular/looked up to.

Convincing people is a really hard thing to do, well I guess if you really want it tell her that it will boost your self confidence and help you with making your own decisions about things and tell her that you are growing up and just because she does not like it does not make it wrong! Personally though I could never have all the way black hair I have naturally really dark brown hair that lightens up in the summer months! Hey and if she still doesn't agree why don't you meet her halfway and tell her that she can have some input on your hair, if parents are involved in your decisions there is a much better chance that they'll be will to let you do things and give you their permission! Good luck with your mom, just be respectful and think about where she's coming from and she'll also be more understanding guaranteed!

My hair is like, super long, and my mom wants me to cut it a few inches, so I said, "okay, as long as you let me dye the ends purple" as a joke, but she took it seriously and said yes, lol. Well first of all how old are you? and is your hair normally black? I mean, dying your whole hair and adding highlights (especially purple ones) is probably alot for your mom to handle. Plus it'll probably grow out and look bad. My mom would never let me go dye my hair agian, so at th moment I really hate highlights and full hair dyes. Well good luck all.

Tell her you want to express your creativity, or get hair dye that only lasts like a month. I dyed my hair bright red for the last day of school and my mom even bought the dye!

It's a losing battle. Your mother has spoken. Give it up for awhile and show her that you respect her decision. If you still feel like dying your hair a few months from now, bring it up again. You can be out-of-the-box in other ways besides just dying your hair. Be creative and think of other ways to express yourself in the meantime.

As long as you are a minor and live in your parents' house, you have to follow their rules. That's just life. Respect your mother's decision and think how you want to present yourself. Do think people in a work or school environment will have very much respect for someone with fried, crazy hair? Appearance is everything, even if you don't want it to be. First impressions are powerful, and it is important to make good ones.

Dying your hair makes it very dry and unhealthy. I think that no matter what color it is if a woman has silky soft healthy hair it is the most beautiful. I think you should just listen to your mom.
