the earth and things on the earth absorb heat in the day from the sun and it takes time for it to cool down after the sun leaves. This can be worse in cities with a lot of buildings and paved streets but less in rural area with a lot of green trees and grass. being near water helps too.

I don't know where you are located, but if it is in a hot and humid area, that explains it. The humidity makes the atmosphere like a steam bath. It takes a long while for the air to cool down even after the sun has gone down. It is the coolest just before sunrise, but even then, it isn't very cool where I come from. Not in the summer. It is also not cool in the shade where I come from, though it is more pleasant.

Think about all of that concrete and asphault broiling in the day. It keeps the heat and gives it off at night. Or, there are no breezes to come take it away. Like in crappy Kansas.

because more people dance at night, and when people dance it makes them hot and sweaty which gives off radiant heat 10x more powerful than the sun.

if you live in the city, it is because the roads and buildings absorb the heat, so it does not cool off like it does in the country.
