no one, especially a man, has a right to tell a woman what to do with her body. if she wants an abortion, that is her affair and hers alone, and the supreme court said so.
you had better be a woman.
i would also like to point out that it takes two to make a baby. if you don't want an unwanted pregancy use a condom.
and abortion has nothing to do with the viet nam war. nothing. this is obviously a twisted question and you are trying to rationalize something. I have never heard of viet nam veterans called "baby killers" were you a viet nam veteran? besides this is the u. s. anyone can call anyone anything. but no educated person would consider viet nam vets baby killers. by the way, i am very conservative, yet as a man, i have no right to tell a woman what to do with her body, any more than i have a right to tell two gay people if they can get married. thank you.

I'm not sure anyone is really PRO abortion. What most people are pro choice. This has more to do with the governments ability to regulate individuals bodies.

Personally, I don't think abortion should be used as birth control, but I also don't think the government (mostly males) should have a say whether or not a woman can discontinue a pregnancy at an early stage. I think an abortion, sometimes, is a necessary evil.
...not sure how Nam fits into this.

My, what a biased and phoney question. Any soldier may end up being a "baby killer" whether they intend to or not. War kills the innocent quite routinely.

As for abortion, no babies are involved. Babies have been born,. and fetuses and embryos are only potential infants. In fact, nature terminates more pregnancies quite naturally than make it to term. A simple biology course might help you understand this.

As for "pro-abortion" it would be extremely rare for someone to identify as such. The correct term, which your side seems to not quite grasp, is "pro-choice." A woman who is pregnant has three choices. She can terminate, she can give birth and raise a child or she can give birth and give a child up for adoption. A pro-choice person believes the individual woman is the one who has the best grip on what is appropriate for her own situation, not some stranger who wants to butt in.

Let's turn that question around. Don't you think it is incredibly hypocritical to call yourself "pro-life" and approve of war and the death penalty?

In 20 years of dealing with the issue, I have yet to meet anyone who is pro-abortion.

Every pro-choice person I know personally disapproves of abortion. They just don't think the government should be making those kind of personal decisions.

As far as your question, it seems like you are not making any distinction anywhere along the development spectrum, from fertilized egg to 6-week old cluster of cells all the way to born and breathing baby. However, medical science does make a distinction, and so do many religions, and so do many individuals.

Which is another reason why decisions like that should be made by governmental legislative fiat.

It is a tough question. If abortion is illegal, women will still have it done. We don't need anymore rights taken away. There are many reasons why a woman would choose to have an abortion. Personally I would rather see the child put up for adoption but then again thats is my choice. I wouldn't want it made for me. That would be hell. I know a lot of people will hate this answer.

If you pro lifers were not such loud mouthed hypocritical Bible thumpers there would not be one hungry child in America.
When you prevent a woman addicted to drugs from getting an abortion you doom the kid to miserable life.
You want to force a woman to carry a child to term when child was conceived in a rape or incest.
Not only do you appose abortion.
You oppose all forms of birth control.
If you weren't against all forms of birth control there would be fewer abortions.

Unwed mothers living in lousy conditions give you somebody to feel superior to.
Which is something you desperately need.
Then you will snarl about all the single mothers on welfare.
But won't lift a finger to help them except to hand them a Biblical Tract telling them what miserable sinners they are and that they are going to hell.

Deffinetly Not.

dyou know that within the first week, the foetus doesnt even have a heart beat or a brain wave? Technically speaking, it's only a mass of tissue at that point...

But yes, it is natural for people to feel guilty cuz of course, they get motherly attachment to the baby..but it doesnt necessarily brand you a "baby killer"...

Thats just ridiculous...sometimes some people only have abortion left as an option in their life...It doesn't make them a murderer...

I, along with some others here, have never heard of anyone who is "pro-abortion." However, we feel it is not the right of government, nor of anyone, to tell someone whether they can have one or not. It irks me everytime someone uses that term of "pro-abortion", as well as the use of the term "liberal" as it is a sign of evil. Compared to the people of Abraham Lincoln's time, we are all "liberal."

Yeah, it's kinda like the conservatives who are against abortion yet refuse to do anything to reduce the amount of unwanted children in the world or push birth control.

Would you rather force them to have them and abuse them, throw them in dumpsters, beat them. that's better huh, then the children can know face to face mommy and daddy don't want me.
There is to many unwanted children in this world.
I do think if someone has an abortion they should also have there tubes tied at the same time. Maybe that would control some of the unwanted babies.
