I live in California, and my child and her mother lives in Maryland. She used the office in Maryland to sue me for child support (Interstate case), because she wanted more money than we had agreed on. I have been paying a crazy amount for approx. 1.5 years (Wage Deduction). Now I am in the process of moving to Florida. What is going to happen to that court order, since neither one of us lives in the state that granted the order?

The first state that it is filed in I think is the child's state of jurisdiction for the child support case. I got divorced in North Carolina but now reside in TX; however, NC is the state my child support has to stay in even if my x moves from that state. Its called the state of jurisdiction. This helps keep idiots from moving state to state just to modify support orders b/c it is lower or higher.

Pay the money and take care of your child.
Move close to your child and be the father you kid needs. You created a child, take responsiblity and be a parent.
