I will be moving into an apartment that has carpeting in the bathroom. What can I lay over the carpet to keep it from getting moldy from water splashing onto it?

it wont get moldy, I have lived in homes with carpeted bathrooms all my life, and this is the first time I have one that has linolium (discusting), and if you take a shower, jsut put a little bathmat like you would normally and let the door stayopen, it will evaporate threw the day, its a fallisy the moldy carpet theroy, only if you flood it regularly, so dont worry and enjoy!

My grandparents' house has carpeted bathrooms. Just make sure you really dry off in the shower. Get a couple bath mats to cut down the moisture when you get out of the shower.

I would ask the landlord if I could remove it. It probably has lots of mold lurking in there anyway. If you did cover it with something, it would trap moisture in the carpet and it would get moldy anyway.

no longer in all risk, despite if in case you're unlikely to be getting the floor section too moist, you need to hide it w/ 3/4" plywood and glue vinyl sheeting over the plywood yet there could be no thank you to seal the perimeters the place it meets the partitions, around the lavatory and there could be a lip on the brink. it may look gruesome yet be useful. If I have been you i could ask the land lord in case you need to eliminate the carpet and use vinyl tiles at your cost in case you quite do no longer like it. this can be the nicely suited thank you to do it...

If it is bath/kitchen carpet, you don't have to worry about it getting moldy. It has already been treated at the mill when it was made.

I HAVE LIVED IN MY HOUSE FOR 25 YEARS. I'VE HAVE ALWAYS HAD CARPET WITHOUT MOLD AND I DIDN'T HAVE TO DRY THE ROOM EVERY DAY EITHER. UNLESS YOU PLAN TO HAVE A MAJOR WATER FIGHT OR DEEP SEA LESSONS EVERY DAY A NICE PRETTY BATH MAT SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT. A FEW DROPS OF WATER ISN'T GOING TO DESTROY YOUR BATHROOM. AFTER BATHING I USUALLY HANG MY MAT OVER THE EDGE OF THE TUB TO DRY OTHER THAN THAT IT'S FINE. THE COLOR YOU CHOOSE WILL MAKE YOUR BATH PRETTY AS WELL. HAVE FUN!

either refresh it with a spray that is water repellent. or take it out and put in a whole shingle sheet of tile and cut it to fit. seal any mistakes . and put a new coat of sealer on it ever so often.
Yes indoor/outdoor carpet is made to be more mold resestant but it still needs to be refreshed every so often.

you could get a big bathroom mat. one of those clear plastic ones. That's really weird the bathroom has carpet. I've never heard of that.

did you ever stop to think that the carpet was made for "wet" locations?which you should not have to worry about unless you're just that much of a slob that you can't keep the water in the tub.
Why is it that all you people find something to complain about when buying or renting something? No one is twisting your arm,if you don't like it don't rent it.As a landlord myself if you're going say something about it after moving in when you knew about it up front, you wouldn't be a tennant in my house for long.People think we make so much off rentals when we really don't cause we are always putting up with people like you!
