It would most certainly work..It only takes less than a few hundred milli watts to traverse space.

It would work as long as you had battery power, but only as a clock or any other accessories that you have such as a calculator or alarm. Cellular signals would not reach Mars from Earth, so you would not be able to talk to anyone on it. Even if someone else was on Mars with you, you would not be able to communicate via your cell phones as the signals would need to go through a repeater tower on earth.

your cell phone probably wouldn't even work here in Mississippi

have you ever seen that "can you hear me now guy on mars?"

NO

because there are no cell phone towers on mars and if there were, it would take a pretty special communication system to relay the signal back to earth

like the ones the rovers use

No. If even if the best signal peters out at a few hundred miles, a few MILLION miles will have it not work at all, what-so-ever.

no signal, and it would be either so cold that the battery didnt work, or so hot that the screen would melt.
