I live in Boston and I want to apply to George Washington University (IN washington D.C.)? They want an interview?

It it true that some schools keep track of how many times you visit their school?

I would say if you really want to go there you will need to travel there for the interview. It is always good to visit the campus multiple times before choosing a school. I'm sure they do keep track of how many times you have been there , but I don't know that it would effect your acceptance.

If the college you applied to is far away and they want an interview, do you have to go although out there?

Some colleges will allow you to do a phone interview. Some schools keep track of how many times you apply, but not sure about keeping track of visits. That seems strange.

If your really rather interested in the college, and opting out of the interview is next to impossible, then by all means, take a train out. Its safer, its quick, its cheap and you'll enjoy the scenery. If you plan to study out of state, its always a good idea to get a personal taste. Good luck

If you really want to go, come to DC. you will be glad you did. I wouldn't go to a a ollege without visiting first. I think it will help you in the interview process. At least request a phone interview.

I would think it would show how much you desire to go there and earn you extra points with the interviewing committee if you did. And I agree with the others that you should visit the campus as much as you can to become acquainted with the layout and get to know their policies...especially if it's your first choice for colleges.

Talk to the admissions people. They may be okay with a phone interview.
