Find a barn near you and ask them if they need assistance with lessons. If there is a trainer, you can possibly be a working student. A warning about racetracks: they are DANGEROUS! Be very careful around them. Remember to the people around the racetracks: you are replaceable. One of my friends was a workout rider at a racetrack at one point. One day, she had to ride the horse into the starting gate so that her mount and some other horses could do a trial race. The horse FLIPPED OVER inside the starting gate. However, if you can make it around the track, you get in great shape. But personally, I don't think it's worth the risk.

There are quite a few horse facilities in Littleton. The Cottonwood Riding Club is probably the biggest one. The thing is, you have to be pretty close to professional before you will be allowed to work with other peoples horses. That goes for any horse facility, not just Cottonwood. Now if you just want to get a job mucking stalls and picking rocks, drive up to the place and ask to speak with the barn manager.
