There is no best way...simply allow yourself to grieve. Grief is different for everyone and it has several stages. The only thing that you can do is to let the process begin. To try and push it away will only make matters worse. If you feel like crying, cry. If you want to laugh, then laugh. The only wrong way to grieve is to not grieve at all.

i've been dealing with the same thing for six months now, and there is no way to get over it. my best friend was killed by a drunk driver. and he was an amazing person. i still think about him every day all day. the only thing you can do is smile at the good times. and never forget your friend. just be happy for the times you had and never they the memories fade.

I don't know if you need to get over it at all. Just remember the good times and be happy you got to know the person. You never want to forget friends when they are gone.
If you don't want to dwell on it, I'd suggest throwing yourself into a hobby you have that is fun. It'll take your mind off the bad feelings that linger.

Yea tough question....But well getting over may not always be the best option. I mean sometimes its good to analyse the situation a little and learn from it....if possible.
But yea, divert ur attention, listen to music, movies, hang out with friends....talking helps...praying helps...and if possible..do something nice for ur friend's family...maybe later...if not immediately

I believe death is not the end but a change in statis. It's time to remember the good and bad times, how that person added to your life, and to use it to make your self stronger. Be happy that they are not restricted to confines of our world, if they were really close to you then they have already checked in on you and have consoled you. If you really relax and except it you can hear them talking to you in your head.
From what I believe and have felt, they are more sorry for us then we are of their passing.

OMG I AM SOO sry bout your friend. and you can never get over someone death. but the best way to handle it is to tlk to God. tlk to a close friend. or just except what your friend's faith was. God probably needs you friend in heaven with him right now. so he picked the best. Your friend is in a better place. that is sooo sad. and pray for your friend everynight. and tlk to him/her. i am sure you will be ok. good luck and once again, i am so sry.

Well you don't really get over it.But things do get better.Time with family and friends makes things better. My best friend killed herself 6/11/06 and I know that I will never get over it. But think about this, would your friend want to look over you and see how miserable you are? No,she/he would want to see you moving on with your life.

wow thats a toughy. well the healthy way is to talk about it with friends, parents, or shrinks. if that doesn't help, block it out, not necessarily the death, but in how you feel.
