please tell me why ppl dont pull another person aside and tell them they smell ?

I really dont get that , if u smell somebody why dont u just tell them that they smell so they can get help? cuz some ppl cant smell themself at all, like me. even close friends cant even tell there stinky friends that they stink, damn thats wrong. really do u think its mean for u to ask and tell? cuz for me its mean to tlk **** behind my back and i say i stink to others ppls and not to my face. u kno wat mean? so please ppls answer this

I think people think they are sparing your feelings by not saying anything, but it usually is more hurtful to know that people did not say anything. People, in general, seem to think it's okay to be passive-aggressive, back-stabbing and mean rather than upfront, honest and kind. I don't understand how anything can ever get solved that way. Sorry, you experienced that.

Maybe because some people get easily offended and take it the wrong way when someone is just trying to be helpful. Sounds to me like your talking about a situation that happened to you...just consider for a moment if you're a person that can be easily approached by her friends about something like body odor or are you a person that has gotten very defensive in past situations with your friends when they tried to tell you about something embarassing. Maybe it wasn't that they were talking behind your back...maybe one friend was too afraid to tell you and just asked the other one for help in letting you know.

Not trying to be mean....just trying to play devil's advocate.

Scared, don't know how that person will react...I've had a very bad experience with that..

was trying to be nice, and do that, and the person actually went off on me.. So when that happens, or I smell something aint right, I just don't say anything, I'll either walk away, definetly get from around then..

I can't understand one thing, you say that you can't smell yourself?..and may I ask why your nose is closer to you than anyone else's is..I know if my breath, underarm, butt etc..I'm gonna smell it first

Ok if some one smells i tell them. I say you smell do a favor for every one, go home and take a shower. And im in school and i told some kid this and he told the teacher and the teacher talked to me in front of him and stuff.. i said to the teacher i wasnt trying to hurt his feelings i was just telling him he should take a shower because he smells. I got yelled at still but i didnt care.

I agree it is nasty to talk behind someones back about their downsides or anything bad about them at all. It really depends if you know that person and are close to them. Me and my best friend of 6 years feel like we are sisters, were very comfortable with each other which enables us to talk freely and tell each other the truth even when its not exactly good lol. Even if the truth is smelly we always laugh are heads of and just brush it off however always take each others advice. May the force be with you!

I think some people are so use to their own funk that they don't even notice it. When I'm around someone that smell's I just want to get away from them-quick! But what's sad is that the dollar stores have deodorant and soap for sale for a $1.00 so it is in't like it's expensive.

With Soap, Deodorant, Shampoo, and Lotion, I doubt you'll stink.


But come on now it's 2006, people are more concerned with buying Drugs, so If someone is willing to damage their internal health, then they obviously don't care about external health.

prolly cuz they dont' want to offend them or embarrass them...

the same reason we don't tell ppl when they have a booger hanging out of their nose or broccoli in their teeth :)

BUT in actuality, they are allowing the person to be embarrassed longer because they are making more a fool out of themselves because they don't know....
