We studied that poem a long time ago in class. It talks about how Filipinos can "roll with the punches" so to speak. (hence being pliant like a bamboo) No matter what bad stuff happens; we can get up, rebuild and move on.

I tried to look for the copy of the poem. Sorry, I can't find it.
