My friends Sweet 16 is coming up. I am one of those girls that doesn't go all out with makeup on a daily basis. I use eyeliner and lipgloss, but nothing else. For her Sweet 16 I have to do my makeup and I would like it to look nice and a little more mature than just my norm. So if anyone could please tell me what I need, as in brushes and products, and how to do it, that would be a lot of help.

PS. I already looked into getting it done. At the place in the mall I go to it costs around $130 and I don't want to spend that much on something that will be just for one time. (I'd rather spend it on products and such so I can use them again)

Use a light foundation close to your skin tone and the a shine free powder to seal by Bare Esenctuals and a powder brush {with big puffy bristles}

Use a liquid liner, for special occasions it should be heavier and apply to the top only close to the lash line MAC works great
Either buy cute fake lashes or a volumizing mascara 1/2 coats onthe top only you can get NYC lashes or try Clinique
Shadow: use a brown with a shimmery pink or go by this:

Brown: Blue, Purple, mauve, pink, or green in a pale shade so its natural
Green: Brown, Pink, oranges same with above, keep it natural
Blue: grey, silver, purples, camels and browns

use on the whole lid and blend well brands that are good are MAC, Clinique, or even Maybelline

Use a light pink blush on the cheeks and nose for a natural look by Nutregena

Top it off with a lavender gloss by NYC

Ok firstly purchase some foundation most preferrably revlon foundation from the shops, and that suits your skin colour. Secondly purchase some liguid liner, that will give you a clear outline of the top of your eye lid lashes, looks devine thats what I do. Thirdly find a colour of lip stick that suits you and a outlining pencil remember one lipstick will not do any favours for your lips! In order for your lips to look gorgeouse you need two colours one for outlining and the base which it should blend into the other. Fourthly some nice blush and eye shadow that suits you, but dont go crazy try and be as natural as possible with it, go for pastel colours. May the force be with you!

If you go to the mall or to a store that primarily sells makeup they can assist you. They help you choose the right colors for you complexion and colors that compliment your eye color and they also teach you how to apply the makeup. You don't have to purchase their products, but it would be nice if after they've been helpful in choosing colors and doing your face, you at least buy lip gloss or something that's not too expensive.

well you want the basics like eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, blush, foundation, eyelash curler maybe...& cottonballs & q-tips. its good to use q-tips when putting on eyeshadow. get some big brushes for blush & those sorta-like-foam blocks to put on foundation. liquid eyeliner is great. hold the eyelid so that its stretched to the outer side if you understand that bcuz its easier to apply neatly. i cant really give too much detail without showing you so try sites on yahoo or covergirl or soemthing. good luck & have fun!

I do black eyeliner/mascara on top and lightly on your bottom.
I use a pretty golden/sparkly eyeshadow, which always adds class.
Lip gloss, and thats pretty much all.
Or you could try a black eyeshadow for a smokey look.
